Death Record Research Tip

The death certificate is often most helpful for providing the parents' names and the deceased's birth date and birth place. However, this information should be viewed with caution as the data was probably provided by the spouse of the deceased, who may have been under undo stress when providing the information. If possible, compare the death certificates of the siblings of the deceased to verify information about parents and birth places.
